Company Matching Gifts

Check with your employer to see if they have a matching gifts program. You can obtain a matching gift form from your company's personnel office and submit it to us along with your gift, or afterwards.

Gifts of Stocks, Shares or Bonds

Donating appreciated stocks, shares or bonds is a tax-efficient way to support LYWA. Gifts of securities may provide significant tax advantages while helping us preserve and share the Dharma teachings of Lama Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rinpoche. Establish a Donor-advised Fund

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a charitable account that lets you contribute cash, securities, or other assets and receive an immediate U.S. tax deduction. Funds can grow tax-free, and you can recommend grants to any eligible IRS-qualified charity. LYWA is registered with Fidelity Charitable. U.S. tax benefits apply only to donors with U.S. taxable income.

Required Minimum Distributions (RMD)

If you don’t need your RMD for expenses, donating it directly to charity as a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) can be a tax-smart way to support the causes you care about. QCDs are available only to U.S. taxpayers aged 73 or older who are taking RMDs, and may not apply in other countries.

Donate a Vehicle

Donate your vehicle—car, truck, motorcycle, boat, camper, or even farm equipment—to LYWA. It doesn’t need to be running. Our partner CARS will pick it up, auction it, and send LYWA the net proceeds. You’ll receive a tax deduction of at least $500, or more if it sells for a higher amount. U.S. donors can learn more and complete the online form here.

Gifts of Real Estate or Other Assets

LYWA also welcomes gifts of real estate or other non-cash assets. Make an In-Kind Donation

Some businesses and individuals choose to support our work by donating goods or professional services. In-kind contributions can include anything from design and printing services to landscaping, building maintenance, software, or other resources that help reduce our operating costs and expand our programs. If you or your business are interested in contributing in this way, please reach out to us.

Sponsor a Book

Support the publication and free distribution of Dharma teachings by sponsoring a book in honor of yourself or a loved one. Many of our books have been sponsored in memory of deceased relatives and friends—a practice Lama Zopa Rinpoche has explained is both common and highly beneficial. By sponsoring a book, you help spread teachings that protect readers from suffering while creating the charity of Dharma, generating great merit, and potentially benefiting your loved ones. The Lama Yeshe Wisdom Archive is a 501(c)(3) tax-deductible, non-profit corporation dedicated to the welfare of all sentient beings and totally dependent upon your donations for its continued existence.
