Date of Advice:
Date Posted:

This advice was given to someone who needed to acquire long-term immigration status in a country in order to continue teaching at the Dharma center.

You need to recite the following:

  • Dü kar (White Umbrella deity): Forty times.
  • Six-arm Mahakala puja: Ten times.
  • Prajnaparamita: Five times.
  • Gyab shi puja: Nine times.
  • The Prayer to Guru Rinpoche that Spontaneously Fulfills All Wishes (Sampa Lhundrupma): You need to do about 120,000 recitations. It’s a lot but you can do them over time. You can include other dedications, for His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s long life and for the success of the two centers there.

Rinpoche gave this advice to a monk studying in south India who was facing difficulties with his visa renewal.

My most dear, most kind, most precious, wish-fulfilling one,

According to my observation you should recite The Supplication to Guru Rinpoche Clearing the Obstacles on the Path (Barche Lamsel) maybe twenty times. Totally rely on Padmasambhava and pray to Padmasambhava. Please try this.

With much love and prayers ...

Travel Obstacles

Date of Advice:
Date Posted:

This advice was given to a student who asked whether it was beneficial to travel as there were some obstacles.

The student should pray to His Holiness the Dalai Lama. That is the main puja, the main practice that she should do. No matter how many heavy obstacles there are, this is the best puja, the most important puja.

There are various other things that can be done when there are travel obstacles, so she can do these as well.

The other pujas she needs to do are:

  • Tashi Tsegpa (Wyl: bkra shis brtsegs pa; Eng: A Heap of Auspiciousness)
  • Nyepa Kunsel (Wyl: bkra shis brtsegs pa; Eng: Removing All Defilements)
